Senior Consultant in Environmental Safety

RINA is seeking a knowledgeable Senior Environmental Safety Consultant with 3-10 years of relevant industry experience to join our dedicated Safety Environmental team. This role involves managing environmental projects for various sectors, ensuring compliance and excellence in complex and high-risk environments.

The position offers flexibility in work location, allowing for a hybrid working model. Candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of their proximity to our offices.

The Environmental team is engaged in a diverse range of projects, contributing to some of the most advanced programs in the UK Defence sector, including naval and aerial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple Environmental and Sustainability initiatives, ensuring timely delivery within budget and to the highest quality standards;
  • Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments and Assurance projects as dictated by project requirements;
  • Collaborate with Safety Engineering teams to integrate Environmental activities into joint projects;
  • Assist in proposal development, analysis, and report preparation;
  • Provide management with reports on productivity and performance metrics for specific projects;
  • Enhance the Environmental Safety team's capabilities to meet evolving market needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3-10 years of experience in managing Environmental Impact policies for government programs;
  • A degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred;
  • Familiarity with Defence Standards is advantageous but not mandatory;
  • Understanding of ASEMS or POEMS processes is beneficial;
  • Knowledge of ISO14000 series (Environmental Management) is preferred;
  • Experience with MOD procurement processes is a plus;
  • Strong grasp of Environmental Legislation and Regulations;
  • Understanding of UK MOD platforms across various domains is preferred;
  • Candidates must be British citizens or possess UK Security Clearance;
  • Previous experience with Defence contractors, consultancies, or military service is acceptable.
