Role Overview

This Ophthalmic Support Professional role involves working as part of the Optometry team to provide visual fields and ophthalmic diagnostics for patients attending the eye department.

Main Duties:

  • Work closely with Ophthalmology doctors, Orthoptics, Optometrists, and the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide visual fields and ophthalmic diagnostics.
  • Undertake visual field, diagnostic ophthalmic imaging, and visual acuity testing, following standard operating procedures.
  • Support the Optometry staff with some modalities of optometric interventions.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical/hospital environments, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage their time effectively.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £25,000-£27,000 per annum, and the post holder will receive full training and be expected to take an active role in their continuous personal development.
