Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified British Sign Language (BSL) teacher to join our team at Deafway. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering BSL lessons to staff and external students, as well as upholding Deafway's policies in respect of providing a culturally Deaf service.
Key Responsibilities:- Teaching and Training:
- Deliver BSL Level 1 and Level 2 classes to staff and external students.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver classes to meet the needs of students.
- Qualifications and Registration:
- Register with Signature and liaise with them in relation to all course requirements.
- Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Keep records of all training undertaken, including numbers of people trained, assessment/exam pass rates, and other relevant information.
- Confidentiality and Health and Safety:
- Ensure confidentiality of information and assist in promoting and maintaining your own and others' Health and Safety and security.
- Teamwork and Communication:
- Work effectively as part of the team, ensuring effective working relationships and communication.
- Qualifications:
- Qualified to deliver BSL Level 1 and Level 2 training/courses.
- Skills and Attributes:
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm towards people learning BSL.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to enjoy a challenge and maintain a positive mental attitude.
- Reliable and consistent.
