We are seeking a qualified British Sign Language (BSL) teaching assistant to support the class teacher in a mainstream Preston secondary school. The school provides learning support to pupils aged 11-16 who are D/deaf but still have access to a mainstream setting and education.

The ideal candidate will be qualified in BSL and have previous experience working with school-aged children. They will be the direct link between the pupil and teacher, communicating with the pupils in BSL and speaking with the class teacher to ensure the pupils can understand and continue with their learnings.

To be considered for this role, you will need to:

  • Hold a BSL certification
  • Have a TA qualification or relevant work experience
  • Be registered with the DBS Update Service or be willing to apply for a new Enhanced DBS
