About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Departmental Finance Lead to join our team at the University of Oxford, Department of Biology. The role will involve managing the department's finances, developing key strategies, and overseeing financial planning and reporting activities.

The University of Oxford is a world-renowned institution with a rich history of academic excellence. Our Department of Biology is a leading research center, with over 675 students and around 450 staff.

Responsibilities

As the Departmental Finance Lead, you will:

  • Manage the department's finances, ensuring accurate and timely budgeting and forecasting.
  • Oversight of financial planning and reporting activities, including financial analysis and modeling.
  • Develop key strategies to drive business growth and improve financial performance.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in finance, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Proven experience in financial planning and management, with a focus on strategy development.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary range of £55,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave entitlement.
