We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead our financial operations team at SSE plc, a leading energy company powering communities across central southern England and the north of Scotland.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Cost Analysts and working closely with Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery. This includes financial monitoring, reporting, and administration, as well as providing excellent customer service and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of Cost Analysts, providing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to ensure their success.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to develop and implement financial plans, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Lead the financial monitoring and reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of financial information.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including customers, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to improve financial operations and drive business success.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A proven track record in finance leadership, with experience in managing financial teams and developing financial plans.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
  • A deep understanding of financial regulations and compliance, with the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure adherence to standards.
  • A full, current driving license, which is essential for this role.
