Facilities and Pastoral Support Role

We are seeking a warm and welcoming individual to join our team as a Facilities and Pastoral Support Worker. In this role, you will provide essential support to the warden and residents of Commonwealth House, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

As a Facilities and Pastoral Support Worker, you will be responsible for preparing and serving breakfast, conducting fire safety checks, and handling maintenance tasks. You will also have the opportunity to engage with international students and visiting academics, providing pastoral support and befriending them as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve daily breakfasts (Monday-Friday)
  • Conduct fire safety checks and handle maintenance tasks
  • Provide pastoral support and befriending to residents
  • Ad-hoc tidying of the hostel and reporting maintenance issues
  • Conduct yearly inventory

Requirements:

  • Hospitality experience (can be in a church context)
  • Competent in standard office software packages (email, MS Office)
  • A practical person, ready to engage with facility tasks
  • Excellent spoken and written English

Benefits:

  • An estimated salary of £15,000-£18,000 per year, depending on experience
