About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Wildlife Communications Officer to join our team at Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT). As a key member of our Communications team, you will play a vital role in inspiring people about wildlife and our work, and encouraging them to help achieve a wilder future for all.

Key Responsibilities
  • Media and Press Relations
    • Develop and implement a media strategy to raise awareness of our work and promote our conservation efforts
    • Write and distribute press releases, media alerts, and other communications materials to secure media coverage
    • Build and maintain relationships with media contacts and influencers
  • Social Media and Content Creation
    • Develop and implement a social media strategy to engage with our audience and promote our work
    • Create high-quality content for our social media channels, including text, images, and videos
    • Monitor and analyze social media metrics to inform our content strategy
  • Content Development and Writing
    • Write and edit content for our website, newsletters, and other communications materials
    • Develop and implement a content calendar to ensure consistent and engaging content
    • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with our conservation goals
  • Project Management and Administration
    • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
    • Coordinate with our team to ensure timely and effective delivery of projects
    • Provide administrative support as needed
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
    • Strong media relations and social media skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong project management and organizational skills
    • Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform content strategy
