About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Airfield Wildlife Control Operator at RAF Brize Norton. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of aircraft by eliminating the presence of birds and other wildlife on the airfield.

The ideal candidate will possess a valid manual UK driving licence, be colour perception safe, and able to apply and maintain security clearance. You will also be comfortable working autonomously for long periods of time, using technology to record findings and communicate with team members.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Eliminating the presence of birds and other wildlife on the airfield
  • Using bioacoustics, pyrotechnics, and other methods to deter wildlife from settling on the airfield
  • Recording all movements and activities in a digital watch log
  • Dispatching wildlife as a last resort, under licence

Working hours will be 43 per week, with a shift pattern of 2 days, followed by 2 nights, followed by rest, then 3 days off. Hourly rate is £12, and you will be entitled to 25 shifts holiday per year, inclusive of bank holidays.

What we are looking for:

  • Colour perception safe
  • Valid manual UK driving licence
  • Ability to apply and maintain security clearance
  • Comfortable working autonomously for long periods of time
  • Ability to use technology to record findings and communicate with team members

This role would suit someone who is fairly active outside of work, likes their own company, is flexible and supportive with a team ethos, and has recent shooting experience.
