About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airfield Wildlife Control Operator to join our team at Air Partner. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of aircraft and personnel by managing and controlling wildlife on our airfield.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective wildlife management strategies to minimize the risk of bird strikes and other wildlife-related hazards
  • Conduct regular patrols of the airfield to identify and deter wildlife, using a range of techniques including bioacoustics, pyrotechnics, and lethal control methods as a last resort
  • Record all movements and activities in a digital watch log, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of wildlife sightings and control measures
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of wildlife management with airfield operations and maintenance
  • Provide training and guidance to colleagues on wildlife management best practices and procedures

Requirements:

  • Colour perception safe
  • Valid manual UK driving licence
  • Ability to apply and maintain security clearance
  • Live within a maximum of 45 minutes' drive from the airfield
  • Willingness to work autonomously for long periods of time
  • Ability to think on your feet and cope with pressure as it arises
  • Comfortable with using technology, including tablets and mobile devices

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Shooting experience, particularly with air rifles or shotguns
  • Hold a shotgun and/or firearms certificates
  • Recent experience in game keeping, pest control, or military service
