Job Title: Smart Buildings Designer

Our client, a leader in innovation within the built environment, is seeking a skilled Smart Buildings Designer to join their Pre-Sales Bids team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering integrated smart building technology projects and support services.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. ICT Solutions Design:
    Lead technical design and job costing within the Bids team, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness. Conduct site surveys to gather requirements and attend project kick-off meetings to hand over design authority to installation teams.
  2. Presenting and Client Interaction:
    Deliver technical and commercial presentations to clients, showcasing your expertise and building strong relationships. Attend meetings with Account Managers to gather requirements and provide valuable insights.
  3. Documentation and Reporting:
    Create and maintain technical and commercial bid documentation, including financial costing sheets and client submissions. Ensure data integrity and security throughout the process.
  4. Support and Mentoring:
    Support the Head of Design Bid in achieving team objectives, providing guidance and expertise to team members.
Requirements:
  1. Knowledge:
    In-depth knowledge of cabling infrastructure solutions and ICT design, with familiarity with Building Information Modelling and 3D CAD solutions. Understanding of testing and commissioning requirements for ICT infrastructure and ability to design and implement ICT infrastructure for various markets.
  2. Qualifications:
    Minimum five A-C (4-9) GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English. Valid DBS Check and experience with Smart Building systems over ICT cabling infrastructures. Awareness of AV, Electronic Security, IoT, and network architecture is desirable.
