About the Role
Charles Taylor TPA is seeking a skilled Claims Handler to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling claims from the initial notification of loss to the final adjustment and settlement.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and triage first notifications of loss
- Liaise with brokers and underwriters
- Appoint surveyors, lawyers, and other experts to progress claims
- Collect documents and consider policy wording and liability
- Contribute to settlement negotiations with insureds
- Participate in regular claims conference calls
- Manage experts and ensure adherence to agreed scope of works
- Check and approve invoices for payment
- Maintain claims management systems and personal timesheets
- Contribute to fee production and actively market the TPA offering
Person Specification
- 5 years claims experience in commercial property
- A Level education
- Comfortable learning bespoke IT systems
- Attention to detail and accuracy in recording information
- Numerate and good communication skills
- Customer-centric and a team player
