Job Overview

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading manufacturer in Grimsby as a Process Safety Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling major accident hazards and risks to the site, ensuring compliance with company standards and legislative requirements.

As a Process Safety Engineer, you will lead the development and implementation of internal process safety policies and procedures to meet COMAH regulations and site PSM program requirements.

You will also provide leadership and technical assistance on process safety issues and act as the local expert for process safety activities. Additionally, you will support the update and revision of the Site COMAH safety report.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement internal process safety policies and procedures to meet COMAH regulations and site PSM program requirements.
  • Provide leadership and technical assistance on process safety issues and act as the local expert for process safety activities.
  • Support the update and revision of the Site COMAH safety report.
  • Lead and participate in HazOps and PHRs, coordinate other process safety risk assessments, and undertake assigned actions arising from these assessments.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working within Process Safety in a COMAH environment.
  • Chartered Chemical Engineer or equivalent qualification.
  • Process Safety Qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate, MSc) and Hazard Study Lead experience.
  • Ability to plan, organise, communicate effectively, analyse complex situations, and think strategically.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative teamwork skills, with a willingness to help, support, and share knowledge to train others.

The estimated salary for this role is between £55,000 and £70,000 per annum.
