We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Secondary SEMH Specialist to join our community of SEND staff at Tradewind.

The Role

This full-time position, Monday to Friday 8am-4pm, offers an excellent salary of up to £96.15 per hour, with the possibility of becoming a permanent appointment for the right candidate.

As a SEMH Specialist, you will support the class teacher in delivering lessons by preventing or de-escalating challenging behaviours, engaging pupils, maintaining focus, and assisting with input to learning.

You will require lots of empathy, patience, and determination to persevere through challenges, helping young people make progress. You must promote safety, inclusion, and a positive learning environment at all times.

Minimum Requirements
  1. An enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to apply for a new one).
  2. Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
  3. The legal right to work in the UK.
  4. Some experience supporting children with challenging behaviours.
