Behavioural Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Teaching Assistant to join our primary school team in Stockport. This role involves providing targeted behaviour support to students who require additional help with emotional and social skills.
In this position, you will work closely with students who need extra support, fostering a safe and structured environment that encourages personal growth and positive behaviour choices.
- Provide one-to-one behaviour support to individual students.
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to develop and implement behaviour strategies.
- Support students with additional social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Develop supportive relationships with students to promote confidence, independence, and engagement.
- Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to ensure consistent behaviour support.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience working with children in a behaviour support capacity.
- A patient and empathetic approach, with a strong understanding of how to engage students and promote positive behaviour.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
- The ability to manage and de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively.
