A new opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in Burton on Trent. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the profitability and success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre and post-commercial advice to operational teams to support customer-focused service delivery.
  • Support the operational teams in attaining high standards of operational delivery to maximise project profitability and minimise risk.
  • Offer expert advice and feedback to promote best commercial practice within the company.
  • Ensure contract documentation completion and support the Commercial Manager in reviewing and negotiating contracts to align with governance requirements.
  • Manage and monitor contract terms and conditions, as well as contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to resolve contractual disputes.
  • Support the bidding process commercially.
  • Identify new opportunities and ensure each tender has an appropriate level of review and risk assessment.
  • Protect stakeholder interests through full use of the company governance framework during tendering gateways.
  • Prepare accurate subcontract orders and provide advice to the operational team on contract-specific requirements.
  • Support the Operation Teams in developing and updating Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
  • Be influential in maximising profit margins.
  • Liaise with operational and finance staff to prevent work-in-progress and debt levels from building up undetected.
  • Maximise customer variations, document them, price them, and agree on them at the earliest opportunity.
  • Manage final accounts and any necessary claims effectively.
  • Work closely with project teams to identify cost overspend and maximise profit.
