We are seeking a Theatre Surgical Practitioner to become a vital part of our Theatres at London Bridge Hospital, which has received an 'Outstanding' rating from the CQC. Our operating theatres offer a dynamic, stimulating, and professional atmosphere, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and equipment.

The London Bridge Hospital Campus features 10 Operating theatres, catering to a diverse array of specialties including Cardiac, Orthopaedic, Liver, Neurology, Urology, Spinal, and General surgery. Successful applicants will join a large team of skilled theatre professionals. As a member of our theatre team, you will collaborate with experienced colleagues. London Bridge Hospital is dedicated to fostering career growth, offering resources and training for those aiming to elevate their careers or expand their knowledge base.

Reporting directly to the Theatre Manager, you will supervise a team of Anaesthetic practitioners while working closely with scrub and recovery staff. A solid understanding and experience in operating theatres, along with a comprehensive grasp of patients' perioperative needs and nursing practices, are essential. You should possess strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and experience in leading a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care across a varied caseload.

What you will bring:

  • Qualified Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) with experience in Robotics (Da Vinci) is essential.
  • Registration as a healthcare professional (e.g., nurse or ODP) with a relevant honours degree.
  • Recent theatre nursing experience.
  • At least 18 months in a similar autonomous role is preferred.
  • A strong aptitude for clinical and operative practices.
  • The capability to effectively manage the clinical area on a daily basis and plan for future needs.
