Job Description

Job Title: Process Control Systems Engineer

Job Type: Contract

Location: Remote (Northeast Lincolnshire)

Duration: 12-24 months

Rate: £40.00 - £50.00 per hour

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Process Control Systems Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of existing control systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the upkeep of process control systems and applications
  • Ensure data backup and recovery procedures are in place
  • Support Process Improvement and Process Engineering teams in the development and programming of control sequences
  • Utilize industry standards for programming of DCS, ESD, and SCADA HMI packages
  • Examine and translate users' requirements and/or equipment-related process control queries into appropriate solutions
  • Develop and update standards for new or modified control system architecture
  • Ensure change management practices are followed when altering the control system
  • Provide input on new technologies and stay up-to-date with industry developments
  • Develop recommendations for infrastructure improvement
  • Assist with operational implementation of process control and infrastructure modifications and upgrades
  • Provide technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and project modifications

Requirements:

  • HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical/Controls (EC&I) or similar
  • Relevant experience in Process Control and Safety Shutdown hardware, software, and configuration
  • Emerson DeltaV experience essential
  • ABB System6 experience advantageous
  • Experience within a continuous manufacturing process environment (ideally a top-tier COMAH site) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to understand fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving techniques using Process Control systems and Data Historian
  • Experience in communication systems such as OPC, Modbus, ethernet networking advantageous
