Graduate Traffic & Transportation Engineer

We are seeking a talented Graduate Traffic & Transportation Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. As a key member of our Traffic & Transportation team, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects across Scotland, providing integrated solutions to support various disciplines.

Your tasks will include producing transport planning and engineering reports, technical notes, and drawings, as well as undertaking traffic analysis of junctions. As you progress, you can expect to be active on multiple projects and work with various clients at any given time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Transport Assessments and Statements, Travel Plans, and Technical Notes under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Develop drawings using AutoCAD software.
  • Prepare diagrams and figures for insertion into reports using Microsoft programs.
  • Oversee the work of specialist traffic survey sub-consultants and prepare briefs for their tasks.
  • Conduct occasional traffic and parking surveys.
  • Use Junctions 9 and LinSig software to assess traffic flow at junctions, with guidance and training provided.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a relevant subject with 1-3 years of post-qualification experience in a Transport Planning and Engineering environment.
  • A Master's degree in Transport Planning would be an advantage.
  • Experience in preparing Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans would be beneficial.
  • Excellent report writing skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Publisher.
  • Experience using AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of TRICS, Junctions 9, and LinSig software would be an advantage.
  • A flexible and enthusiastic approach to working within a team structure.
  • A valid driving license.
