Heavy Equipment Technician

Finnings Field Service Engineer role involves providing exceptional customer service, diagnosing and repairing complex equipment issues, and working collaboratively with customers to deliver timely and cost-effective solutions. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients, develop your skills and expertise, and contribute to the success of our business.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose equipment problems, discuss with customer operators/supervisors, and provide comprehensive details for work required
- Identify parts needed for repairs, requisition them, and determine expected delivery times for necessary re-visits
- Undertake repair and service work on machines, removing and dispatching components for specialist attention and re-installing original or replacement parts to bring machines up to required standards
- Collaborate with customers to identify the root cause of equipment problems and develop effective solutions
- Provide detailed estimates of repair costs and timescales to customers, taking into account the complexity of the issue and the availability of parts
- A strong background in plant equipment maintenance and repair, preferably with an NVQ Level 3 in Land Based Engineering or Plant Fitting
- Knowledge of field-based diagnosis tools and equipment, as well as experience with heavy earth moving equipment
- A valid LDV driving license and experience with various construction and static machines
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex equipment issues and develop effective solutions
- A highly competitive salary range of £38,500 - £43,800 per annum
- 25 days holiday, with the option to purchase up to 5 additional days
