Mental health assistants play a vital role in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health issues. This role offers an incredible opportunity to work alongside trained therapists, counsellors, and psychologists in a specialist school for children with social and emotional mental health needs.
About the Role
This is a full-time position available immediately or in September, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for working with special needs and mental health issues. Graduates in related fields, such as psychology, counselling, or criminology, are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide consistent, ongoing support to students aged 8-18, helping them achieve their academic potential while promoting their emotional well-being and behavior management. This involves working closely with therapists, psychologists, and other support staff to develop personalized strategies for each student.
Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, caring, and resilient, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other stakeholders. Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential. A salary of £80-£95 per day reflects the level of expertise and dedication required for this position.
Benefits
This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development, with training provided on-site by experienced therapists and psychologists.
