Job Overview: We're National Grid plc, a leading energy company that's shaping a cleaner, greener energy future. Our Higher Apprenticeship Substations program is designed to develop talented individuals into skilled engineers who can make a real impact in our substations.

As a Substation Maintenance Specialist, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our substations. This involves testing equipment, performing routine maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting faults. You'll also have the opportunity to work on substation refurbishment projects, where you'll apply your technical skills and knowledge to upgrade and improve our infrastructure.

Our apprenticeship program includes a Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Electrical power protection and plant commissioning, which you'll complete over the course of three years.
