Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Full Stack Application Engineer to join our team at Discover Financial Services, Inc. As a key member of our technology organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining full stack solutions that meet our business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop full stack solutions that meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technology initiatives
  • Participate in strategic technology decisions and provide input on technical direction
  • Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks and issues
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers to improve their skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in full stack software development
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical leadership experience
  • Experience working in a highly complex and scaled global technology organization
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
