Project Overview

A £170m hotel fit out in Southwest London is currently underway. This exciting project involves demolishing existing layouts to make way for new designs, including the strip-out of all rooms. Our team will refurbish 895 guestrooms and construct 8 new guestrooms, as well as build a rooftop extension for a new rooftop bar. Additionally, we will remodel public areas, refurbish associated corridors, and reconfigure internal areas within the basement to house a spa, pool, and gym facility.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for managing commercial activities during the construction process. You will work closely with the site team to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Procure Sub-Contractors, ensuring Consultants and Supply packages are within pre-agreed budgetary constraints.
  • Analyse work package tender returns, attend pre-start meetings, and submit Order placement recommendations to the Senior and/or Managing Quantity Surveyor.
  • Administer Sub-Contractor/Consultant/Supplier claims, subject to approval of the Managing and/or Senior Quantity Surveyor. Final accounts are administered in accordance with the commercial interests of the Company.
  • Attend design team meetings to ensure compliance with Contract and minimise unnecessary cost.
  • In the absence of a Senior Quantity Surveyor, carry out their role as adequately as possible and inform the Managing Surveyor and/or Head(s) of the Commercial Department of any duties you have difficulty with.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying
  • Chartered member of RICS or working towards
  • Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (JCT) and Standard Methods of Measurement.
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations (including Part B)
  • Knowledge of NHBC Standards
