Role: Property CAT Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Property CAT professional to join our team. As a Property CAT Specialist, you will be at the forefront of innovation, translating data into impactful solutions.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Property team, covering Lloyds and Bermuda markets, Global Reinsurers, and domestic UK&IE insurers. For experienced candidates, there will be opportunities to take a leading role in managing/mentoring junior colleagues.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead and/or contribute to renewal modelling projects on local and global accounts
  • Develop and/or deploy service offerings to clients, alongside our research teams and external academic partners
  • Quantify catastrophe risk to client portfolios using vendor models and proprietary models
  • Engage with clients, reinsurers, brokers, and actuaries on topics including model interpretation, portfolio management, and bespoke analytical projects
  • Contribute to Gallagher Re's wider Catastrophe Analytics services, collaborating with other business units on wider projects
  • Understand and evaluate the impact of updates and revisions to models and outputs produced
  • Contribute to reporting and analysis of natural disasters to support clients post-event
  • Work with colleagues in various locations, including our analytics hub in Mumbai
About You

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A degree in numerate or hazard-related subjects
  • Proven experience in the (re)insurance market and in catastrophe risk analysis using vendor models like RMS and Verisk
  • Working knowledge of (re)insurance business, including reinsurance structures and their application
  • Ability to be client-facing and lead analytics relationships with clients
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of SQL
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
Compensation and Benefits

You can expect a competitive salary of £60,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience. On top of this, you'll enjoy:
