Role Overview:

Gallagher Re, a global leader in reinsurance broking, seeks an experienced Catastrophe Analyst to join our EMEA Catastrophe Analytics team. As a key member of this team, you will play a crucial role in analysing and managing the risk associated with natural disasters and catastrophes.

About the Role:

  • This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to work on a variety of projects, including renewal modelling, cat modelling, and bespoke analytics projects.
  • You will be working closely with other catastrophe analysts, actuaries, and brokers to provide high-quality analysis and reporting to clients.
  • Your expertise will be instrumental in helping clients understand and mitigate their risk exposure.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to the development and implementation of catastrophe models and analytics tools.
  2. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to clients on risk management strategies.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  4. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, applying knowledge to enhance Gallagher Re's services.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a numerate or hazard-related subject.
  • Proven experience in catastrophe risk analysis using vendor models such as RMS and Verisk.
  • Strong IT skills, including programming languages like SQL, R, and Python, as well as mapping software like ArcGIS and QGIS.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
