Catastrophe Modeller

About the Role

This position involves working with our team of experts to evolve clients' understanding and view of catastrophe risk. We are looking for a skilled professional to help us develop and refine our natural catastrophe models, ensuring they accurately quantify the likelihood and severity of natural disasters.

Responsibilities
  • Run natural catastrophe models to estimate the impact of disasters on clients' portfolios
  • Conduct sensitivity testing to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with academic and industry partners to validate and create innovative solutions for the (re)insurance market
  • Liaise with other teams and offices worldwide to ensure seamless delivery of services

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our model evaluation specialists to revise and challenge existing catastrophe models, delivering client views of risk that is more relevant to their business.

Requirements
  • Experience in a broking house within an analytical team, with a commercial/client focus
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to present to a wide audience on modelling outputs and view of risk
  • Project management skills, with capability to work in a team, independently, and under pressure
  • Skilled in multi-relational database management systems and coding (SQL, R)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of (re)insurance terms and business (CII Qualifications preferred)

This role offers a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, plus a comprehensive benefits package and 25 days holiday.
