The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Catastrophe Risk Analyst to join our Property CAT team, covering Lloyds and Bermuda markets, Global Reinsurers, and domestic UK&IE insurers. You will work closely with our Property team, assisting clients in analysing the risk to their business from all aspects of natural perils and catastrophic events. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in catastrophe risk analysis using vendor models such as RMS and Verisk. Your strong problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and excellent communication skills will enable you to lead our analytics relationship with clients and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in renewal modelling projects on local and global accounts, leading and contributing to the delivery of solutions for Specialty and UK&I clients. • Develop and deploy service offerings to clients, working alongside our research teams and external academic partners. • Quantify catastrophe risk to client portfolios using vendor catastrophe models and Gallagher Re proprietary models. • Engage with clients, reinsurers, brokers, and actuaries on topics including model interpretation, portfolio management, and bespoke analytical projects. • Contribute to Gallagher Re's wider Catastrophe Analytics services, collaborating with other business units on wider projects as part of our agile team. • Understand and evaluate the impact of updates and revisions to models and their outputs. • Contribute to reporting and analysis of natural disasters to support clients post-event. • Work with colleagues in various locations, including our analytics hub in Mumbai. • Support junior members in the team through training and advice (senior role only).

About You

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Catastrophe Risk Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will have: • A degree in numerate or hazard-related subjects. • Proven experience in the (re)insurance market and in catastrophe risk analysis using at least one of the main vendor models RMS and Verisk. • Working knowledge of (re)insurance business, including understanding reinsurance structures and their application. • Ability to be client-facing and lead our analytics relationship with clients. • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail. • Excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of SQL. • Excellent communication skills. • The ability to work in a team and be highly motivated to learn and grow within a global market leader. • Eligibility to work in the UK.
