York Archaeology, an independent educational charity founded in 1972, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its organisation.

About the Role

This challenging role involves managing the finance team to accurately deliver all finance transactions, producing management and statutory accounts, and providing meaningful management information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the finance team to ensure accurate financial transactions, including processing payments to staff and suppliers
  • Producing management and statutory accounts
  • Providing meaningful management information to stakeholders
  • Assisting the CFO in the production of Annual Reports and Accounts
  • Coordinating with external auditors for a smooth audit process
  • Overseeing monthly internal management accounts and KPIs
  • Providing analysis as requested by the Board, Executive Team, Managers, and external advisors
  • Supporting users of financial and project accounting systems with their queries
Requirements
  • Newly-qualified first-tier professional body qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
  • Experience of using Sage 200 and Sage 50 Payroll ideally
