About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Finance Assistant to join our finance team in York.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a charitable organisation and contribute to the success of their financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and data entry tasks.
  2. Monitor and control aged debt and general credit control.
  3. Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
  4. Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  5. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  6. Carry out regular audits of financial processes to identify areas for improvement.
  7. Assist in the compilation of management accounts information.
  8. Perform bank reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.
  9. Process quarterly journals.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in the charitable sector.
  • Experience of working in an all-round accounts role up to trial balance previously.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to build effective and professional relationships with budget holders to support the preparation of costings for grants and other income streams.
  • Good attention to detail and IT skills are essential.

Salary Range: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum.
