JCC Greater Boston seeks a skilled Mental Health and Wellness Advocate to provide essential support services to our campers. As a member of our summer staff, you will contribute to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

About the Job

This full-time, on-site summer position is ideal for individuals with experience in mental health counseling, social work, or school adjustment counseling. You will work in collaboration with other Advocates to ensure campers with BMESH needs have the necessary support and accommodations.

Key Tasks:
  1. Implement Support Plans: Develop and implement individualized support plans for campers with BMESH needs, in consultation with families and staff.
  2. Provide Training: Deliver training in de-escalation techniques to all staff members, promoting a culture of empathy and understanding.
  3. Crisis Response: Participate in the camp crisis intervention team, providing immediate support to campers in need.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field, with a preference for Master's or higher degrees.
  • Previous experience as a mental health counselor, social worker, or school adjustment counselor.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with children and adolescents.
Compensation Package

Our compensation package includes a competitive hourly rate of $20, plus benefits such as JCC Health & Fitness center access, a dynamic work environment, and reduced rates for Camp Grossman enrollment for employees' children.
