About the Role

WhereToTalk is seeking a skilled Student Counsellor to join our team. As a University Therapist, you will work closely with students to provide high-quality counselling services. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver individual and group therapy sessions, using psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations, particularly in higher education settings. You will be expected to work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to design and deliver training programs for staff on student mental health issues.

We are committed to providing an excellent working environment that supports your professional growth and development. In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary of approximately £35,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions
  • Design and deliver training programs for staff on student mental health issues
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to the operational development of the service

Requirements

  • Evidence of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Individual Counsellor Accreditation/UKCP Registration or equivalent body
  • Substantial experience delivering individual, psychodynamic and/or cognitive behavioural counselling/psychotherapy
  • Able to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team, self-motivate, and motivate others
  • Detailed familiarity with issues facing students in Higher Education
