Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable individual to join our multidisciplinary therapy team as a Therapy Assistant. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care and support to residents in care homes across Wandsworth.

The Care Home Inreach Therapy Service is a dynamic and proactive team that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of residents through support, training, and education. As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering 1:1 sessions and therapy activity group sessions, including exercise programs tailored to the specific needs of each care home environment.

You will also provide administrative support to the therapy team, including organizing newsletters, managing phone/email queries, preparing training materials, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, you will assist in completing therapy-related outcome measures with older residents and care home staff, and implement group therapy plans developed by the therapy team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the multidisciplinary therapy team to deliver 1:1 sessions and therapy activity group sessions

Requirements:

  • Broad general education including English and maths to GCSE level or equivalent
  • NVQ 3 in Health or Social Care or equivalent academic qualification and/or equivalent level of experience of working as a Physio/OT/Rehab assistant
  • Previous experience in elderly care working with older people's rehabilitation within hospital/community settings
  • Experience of working in Care Homes
  • Able to communicate efficiently and effectively in English both verbally and in writing to patients, carers, and colleagues
