About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team that provides multi-disciplinary rehabilitation to adults across the lifespan. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will support occupational therapists and other professionals to deliver interventions that promote independence, confidence, and well-being in clients with physical, cognitive, and psychological needs.
Key Responsibilities- Assist occupational therapists in planning and implementing care plans and treatment programs for clients with neurological and complex physical disabilities.
- Conduct assessments, under the guidance of senior therapists, to identify client needs and develop strategies to promote independence and confidence.
- Provide a range of managed activities, instructing and guiding clients to support them in achieving identified goals.
- Work in a sensitive and enabling way, taking account of the service's commitment to diversity and equality.
- Observe client progress against treatment aims and report observations to therapists responsible for the treatment.
- Good basic education and NVQ or similar qualifications.
- Experience of planning and achieving tasks with others, ability to carry out tasks independently, and experience of working within a team.
- Good personal organisational skills, including time management and ability to prioritise.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), understanding of confidentiality, and positive interpersonal skills.
