About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Center Operations Trainee to join our team at Amazon Data Services UK Limited - E17. As a Data Center Operations Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the Data Center/Facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the Data Center/Facility
  • Provide assistance to contractor or data center engineers to ensure proper operation, maintenance of all facility equipment and building racks
  • Perform site walkthrough to verify proper operation of Facility Equipment and Monitoring System
  • Ensure overall availability and reliability for our customers within our Data Centers
  • Install new rack equipment
  • Decommission existing racks
  • Assist root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLA
  • Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • 18 years or older
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has taken or is interested in STEM or vocational course curriculum related to electrical or mechanical field
  • Knowledge of generic mechanical-room infrastructure such as chillers, Cooler Units, and fan controls
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers and power distribution panels
