Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Centre Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency. As a key member of our Data Centre Operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuous running of our Data Centres and Communications rooms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hardware Installation Planning & Asset Inventory (Audits / Design)
  • Hardware Installation
  • Infrastructure cabling (Datacentre and office space)
  • Cable testing /fault finding (fibre/copper)
  • Data Centre Access Management
  • Routine Visual Checks
  • Operations Policies and Procedures
  • Proactive advice and guidance as to the optimal configuration of the environments (cooling/airflow)
  • Management of Data Centre (Infrastructure) Stores including disposals
  • Data centre capacity planning
  • Management and resolution of hardware faults

Requirements

We are looking for a team player with excellent communication and influencing skills. You will be confident taking ownership and making informed decisions. You will have fantastic communication skills and be confident in communicating technical information to a variety of audiences. You must be adaptable, and able to use your initiative to undertake work and make effective decisions with ability to problem-solve to find timely solutions.
