Job Summary:

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Charge Midwife to join our team at The Vale of Leven Community Maternity Unit. As a clinical leader, you will provide 24-hour continuing responsibility for the department and promote teamwork within a multi-professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Influence and facilitate change within the department and the organisation.
  • Promote a clean, comfortable, caring, and safe environment for staff, women, and visitors by ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and protocols.
  • Ensure a high standard of record keeping in accordance with Nursing & Midwifery Council, national legislation, and local standards, facilitating effective communication with the multi-professional team.
  • Act as a role model, creating a supportive ethos to empower staff to contribute to the delivery of high-quality person-centered care.
  • Be a registered Midwife on the NMC Register, educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience or evidence of continuous professional development.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years post-registration experience within a relevant area.
  • Expert clinical and professional practice developed through experience and theoretical knowledge.

About the Role:

The Vale of Leven Community Maternity Unit is a stand-alone unit. As a Senior Charge Midwife, you will be responsible for leading the midwifery team and promoting clinical excellence. You will work closely with the multi-professional team to deliver high-quality care to women and their families.
