About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Charge Midwife to join our team at the Vale of Leven Community Maternity Unit. As a clinical leader, you will provide 24-hour continuing responsibility for the department and lead the delivery of clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership to the midwifery team and promote teamwork within a multi-professional environment.
  • Lead the delivery of clinical excellence and promote a clean, comfortable, caring, and safe environment for staff, women, and visitors.
  • Ensure a high standard of record keeping in accordance with Nursing & Midwifery Council, national legislation, and local standards.
  • Act as a role model and create a supportive ethos to empower staff to contribute to the delivery of high-quality person-centered care.
  • Be a registered Midwife on the NMC Register, educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience or evidence of continuous professional development.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years post-registration experience within a relevant area.
  • Expert clinical and professional practice developed through experience and theoretical knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
