About the Role


A highly skilled Trade and Maintenance Specialist is required to join our team at Mears. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting residents with planned repairs and maintenance across our portfolio of properties. This will involve working from job to job, on a planned route, to deliver high-standard General repairs and refurbishment activities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, with the ability to adopt a professional manner when communicating with service users, clients, and internal/external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities



  • Carry out certified core trade work to complete repair/refurbishment works on time and to a high standard, in accordance with agreed standard operating procedures.
  • Undertake construction, fault finding, and maintenance repairs, aiming for a first-time completion while remaining within budget and time parameters.
  • Process all activities electronically, using a hand-held device (PDA), including worksheets, timesheets, photographic evidence of works, van stock replenishment, booking of annual leave, vehicle inspections, safeguarding issues, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Keep all company assets in good condition, in line with company policies, and report any damages to the Supervisor/Manager.
  • Utilize existing stock or collect materials as required to meet works order requirements, in accordance with standard operating procedures for purchasing and van stock control compliance.
  • Attend informal and formal meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Participate in call-out cover to ensure contract compliance and service user satisfaction for emergency repairs.

Requirements


The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:



  • Window and door fitting experience
  • Carpentry experience
  • Basic plumbing knowledge
  • IT literacy
  • Good customer service skills
  • UK full driving license

All roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, and Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
