We are seeking a highly skilled Android Mobile App Developer to join our team at MECS Communications Ltd. As a key member of our Engineering Chapter, you will play a critical role in the design, development, coding, build, customization, implementation, integration, and maintenance of mobile applications for devices running the Android operating system.
Key Responsibilities- Analysis: Engage with stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to gather and document requirements. Translate user stories into actionable software and scalable solutions.
- Develop Applications: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using programming languages like Java, Kotlin, Swift, and Jetpack Compose.
- UI/UX Design: Implement user-friendly interfaces that align with design specifications while ensuring smooth user experiences.
- Test and Debug: Identify and fix bugs, optimize performance, and ensure the app functions across various Android devices and versions.
- Maintenance: Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Performance Tuning: Identify and correct bottlenecks, fix bugs, participate in code reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Integrate APIs: Connect apps to external data sources, third-party services, and APIs, such as databases or cloud platforms.
- Deployment: Publish applications to the Google Play Store and handle updates, bug fixes, and improvements post-release.
- Version Control: Use tools like Git for managing code versions and collaborating with team members.
- Stay Abreast: Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies. Keep informed about the latest Android SDKs, libraries, and best practices to ensure the app is up to date.
- Collaboration: Work with designers, product managers, and other developers to ensure the app meets project goals.
- Mentor: Coach junior developers and contribute to the team's knowledge.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Hands-on experience in Android App Development.
- Skills: Java, Kotlin, Swift, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, RESTful APIs, Android architecture components (MVVM, MVP, Use Cases, and Clean Architecture), Android Studio IDE, Cloud message APIs and push notifications, Open-source Android ecosystems and libraries, Offline storage, threading, and performance tuning, Google Android design principles and interfaces, Git or other version control systems, React Native or Expo, CI/CD automation.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently, effective communication and collaboration skills.
