SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with expertise in supporting children with Autism to join our team at a well-respected school in High Wycombe.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with teachers to assist in planning and delivering meaningful activities for students with Autism.
- Implement action plans and strategies to support students' progress through a comprehensive approach.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Risk Assessments, Personal Care, and Therapy Care programmes for assigned students.
- Work alongside teachers, support staff, families, and external agencies to ensure students receive well-rounded support.
- Build strong, therapeutic relationships with students and engage with them based on their individual needs.
- Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum (ASC) or a strong desire to do so.
- A solid understanding of SEN and enthusiasm for personal growth in this area.
- Relevant qualifications, such as an NVQ in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning.
- Background in residential care, support roles, or school-based support is a plus.
- Personal or professional experience with ASC, and training in Team Teach, TEACCH, or positive handling (preferred).
- Competence in fostering independence and supporting the social and emotional development of young people.
- Possesses a valid DBS on the update service or is willing to obtain one.
