Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team at Ignite Recruitment Services. As a Fire Extinguisher Technician, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining portable fire extinguishing appliances in residential and commercial premises.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Site Safety Surveys: Conduct comprehensive site surveys to ensure safety, adequacy of portable firefighting equipment, and compliance with British Standards and legislation.
  2. Equipment Servicing: Service portable firefighting equipment in accordance with relevant British Standards and legislation.
  3. Basic Numeracy Skills: Apply simple formulas, calculate floor areas, travel distances, and use tables to look up values.
  4. Equipment Handling: Safely handle portable firefighting equipment, including pressure vessels weighing up to 20kg each.
  5. Stock Management: Manage van stock correctly, ensuring relevant paperwork is submitted to replenish stock and ensuring first-time fix where possible.
  6. Compliance Documentation: Ensure compliance documentation is completed and shared with line manager in real-time, highlighting any areas of non-conformity.
Qualifications
  • Servicing and Maintenance of Portable Fire Extinguishers, provided by FIA.
  • C11 Portable Fire Extinguisher Recharging and Maintenance, provided by FPA.
  • Fire Extinguisher Technician Diploma, provided by BAFE.
  • Fire Extinguisher Technician Training, provided by F.I.R.E Ltd.
  • L3 in Servicing and Maintenance of Portable Fire Extinguishers, provided by British Fire Consortium.

BAFE certification in a previous role is desirable but not essential.
