Pioneering People Seeks a Seasoned Purchasing Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team at Pioneering People. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for overseeing and developing our purchasing and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the purchasing and logistics team, ensuring alignment with our business goals and objectives.
- Procurement Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy across all product categories, ensuring optimal supplier relationships and maximum value for our business.
- Inventory Management: Ensure accurate and efficient inventory management across our three warehouse locations, maintaining desirable stock levels and minimizing stockouts.
- Supplier Relationships: Foster strong relationships with vendors, negotiating favorable terms and maximizing margins through effective communication and collaboration.
- Reporting and Analysis: Produce regular reports on departmental efficiency, including lead times, stock aging, and stock movement insights, to inform data-driven decision-making.
- Administrative Tasks: Ensure accurate and up-to-date data on items on our system, facilitating efficient and accurate purchasing administrative tasks.
- Supplier Performance: Routinely review supplier service and maintain a supplier performance log, ensuring timely reviews and performance evaluations.
- Contract Management: Review, negotiate, and monitor existing vendor contract agreements to ensure optimal terms and conditions.
- Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with sales teams and vendors to offer attractive project prices to customers, anticipating future stock requirements and ensuring timely acquisition of product portfolios.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to stock procurement and develop risk mitigation strategies, proactively addressing issues to minimize disruption to timelines and budgets.
Requirements:
- Procurement Qualification: Possession of a purchasing or supply chain procurement qualification is essential.
- Supply Chain Experience: Solid experience in a key buyer role or purchasing management role is essential.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and stock planning systems is desirable.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, organizational and prioritizing skills, ability to collaborate with different teams, and a positive, can-do attitude are essential.
