Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Manager to oversee all aspects of our food and beverage operations at St Augustine Primary School-Gillingham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food and service, while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the replenishment of food and the dismantling of work areas at the end of service.
  • Develop, mentor, and train the kitchen team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional results.
  • Control the complete catering operation, including labor, food, and stock expenses, to optimize profitability and efficiency.
  • Manage and optimize all costs that are under your control, ensuring that we are operating within budget.
  • Ensure uniformity in the food and service standards provided to staff members, visitors, and students.
  • Manage the creation and development of menus that meet the needs and preferences of our customers.
  • Conduct routine audits to ensure that standards are being followed and that our operations are compliant with all relevant regulations.
Requirements
  • Must have expertise in cooking on a large scale, with experience of managing teams and leading kitchen operations.
  • Have experience following recipes and managing food safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Have previous staff supervision experience or line management experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Have experience working with fresh produce and ingredients, with a focus on quality and sustainability.
  • Be aware of the importance of adhering to health and safety procedures, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Be professional, leading by example and having a positive outlook, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Hold basic food handling skills certification, with a minimum of 1 year's experience in hands-on cooking, training on food hygiene, and health and safety.
