About the Role

We are seeking a skilled German Localisation Specialist to join our global localisation team at Wise.

As a German Localisation Specialist, you will be responsible for localising and adapting our content to ensure it is accessible and engaging for German-speaking customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Localise product, marketing, and support content from English to German, maintaining the correct meaning, context, and tone of the source text.
  • Proofread and edit translated content for linguistic accuracy and clarity.
  • Collaborate with the localisation team to promote synergies between markets and refine tools, workflows, or processes.
  • Evaluate and report on vendor quality for continuous improvement.
  • Perform QA and liaise with stakeholders to investigate, fix, or overcome issues and challenges.
  • Define and ensure a consistent tone of voice across all content.
  • Identify and address growth opportunities with German-speaking audiences.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • German native speaker with over a year of experience in localisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with CAT, TMS, and/or MT tools, as well as best practices in quality management processes and workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality localisation.
  • Analytical mind and ability to express it constructively to reach the best outcome for customers.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment with concurring deadlines.
  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness to accurately convey cultural nuances in your work.
