Maintenance Engineer

This role is based in Bedfordshire, within a commutable area including Bedford, St. Neots, Stevenage, Royston, Hitchin, Biggleswade, Sandy, and Welwyn.
Salary:The salary for this position is estimated to be around £51,500 per annum + overtime + bonus.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct routine and planned maintenance across manufacturing, production, site services, infrastructure, and plant equipment areas.
- Implement effective PPM schedules to ensure minimal downtime.
- Be involved in site project work, including installations and upgrades to machinery.
- Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
- Work with high-speed food production, processing, and packaging machinery, automation, and controls.
- Fault find PLCs and electrical systems.
- Apply knowledge of motors, servo drives, sensors, inverters, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, compressors, and other relevant equipment.
- Contribute to continuous improvements by suggesting new ideas and sharing knowledge.
- Holds a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- A multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias.
- Has worked in fast-paced food or FMCG manufacturing environments.
- Working knowledge of a CMMS system.
- A team player, proactive individuals are preferred.
- Qualified to HNC level or equivalent.
- Familiar with PLC and electrical fault finding.
- Comfortable working at heights and in hot conditions when necessary.
- Able to work effectively in a busy, time-sensitive environment.
- Experience with continuous improvements and lean manufacturing practices.
- Certifications in food hygiene, safety, or related fields are beneficial.
