About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architectural Design Director to lead our design team and oversee the architectural design process. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the CAD team, collaborating with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring high-quality and innovative designs that meet client requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Leadership: Lead and manage the architectural design process, ensuring that designs are of the highest quality and meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Team Management: Manage and mentor the CAD team, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and growth.
  • Client Collaboration: Collaborate with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals, budgets, and timelines.
  • Design Development: Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create accurate and detailed architectural drawings, renderings, and models.
  • Design Review: Review and evaluate architectural designs to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and specifications.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with contractors and construction teams during the construction phase to ensure that design intent is maintained.
  • Communication: Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the design process.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in architecture and CAD design.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • CAD Skills: Excellent 3D CAD modelling skills using Autodesk Inventor; good knowledge of parametric control/iLogic is an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural design, with a focus on CAD software.
  • Software: Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction practices.
  • Leadership: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Organisation: Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to clients and stakeholders.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing your previous architectural designs and CAD work.
  • Reading Skills: Proficiency in reading construction/manufacturing drawings.
