About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Benefits Advisor for Vulnerable Groups to join our team at We Manage Jobs (WMJobs). The successful candidate will work closely with service users who have terminal and/or chronic asbestos-related diseases, their families, and carers to provide expert advice and assistance on welfare benefits, access to compensation, and other areas of support.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Delivering personalized advice and assistance to service users through interviews in their homes or over the phone.
  • Explaining various compensation options available to service users and their implications.
  • Conducting research to gather detailed information about asbestos exposure in different occupations and times.
  • Providing practical help such as completing DWP benefit applications, applying for a Blue Badge, writing letters, and making phone calls when necessary.
  • Signposting clients to other services and sources of help where appropriate.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records of client cases using our customized online database.
  • Liaising with external organizations like hospital staff, the DWP, solicitors, and local authorities.
  • Identifying safeguarding concerns and reporting them to the relevant authorities.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office, and have experience working with vulnerable groups. We offer a competitive salary of £33,727.53 per hour, 29 days' holiday, and a range of other benefits.
