Business Support Administrator Role

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Business Support Administrator to join our dynamic team at Bedfordshire Police. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of essential operations and advance your administrative career.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Local Policing / Crime & PPU / Intel / SSID department, including business support administration.
  • Contribute to achieving the vision, purpose, and values of Bedfordshire Police.

Key Tasks:

  • Provide a range of administrative support duties, including producing emails, letters, and other correspondence using MS Windows software and Bedfordshire Police ICT.
  • Book meetings, send agendas, and background papers.
  • Liaise with relevant individuals to ensure pre-meeting notes or briefings are obtained for meetings where required.
  • Attend meetings, prepare and maintain decision and action logs, and circulate meeting documents promptly in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive electronic filing/storage system for departmental correspondence and key documents, utilizing SharePoint and OneNote effectively.
  • Provide diary management, including booking meetings and rooms on Police estates.
  • Plan itineraries for travel and provide transactional support as required.
  • Provide cover for team colleagues as needed.
  • Handle documents in accordance with protective marking requirements.
  • Support the completion of individual and departmental records, such as time sheets, expenses, stakeholder lists, and hospitality paperwork.
  • Facilitate the resolution of ICT technical problems, where possible.

Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for correspondence and reports.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, MS Teams, Word, Diary, and Email management in Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Mail Merge, SharePoint, and One Note.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience of dealing with people at all levels.
  • Able to undertake administrative work accurately and methodically.
  • Experience of working in a customer-focused environment.
