At Brook Street UK, we are seeking a compassionate and experienced Domestic Violence Counsellor to join our dedicated team. As a Domestic Violence Specialist, you will provide support and guidance to individuals who have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence.

About the Opportunity

We offer a competitive estimated salary of £34,400 - £43,300 per annum (dependent on full-time equivalent) for this 22.5 hours per week role. The position is fixed-term until 31st March 2025, with the possibility to extend for a further 12 months. You will typically work over 3 days from 9am - 5pm, with an hourly rate of £15.92.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group counselling sessions with survivors of domestic violence
  • Assess client needs and develop personalized treatment plans
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during times of high distress
  • Educate clients about their rights and options
  • Collaborate with community agencies and resources to ensure comprehensive care
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records
Requirements
  • Experience in the DV field
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of working with victims and survivors
  • Able to assess and respond appropriately to risk
  • Happy to travel around Birmingham
  • Bilingual desirable, but not essential
